Life can chip away at us for a thousand years
Castaway our happiness upon a sea of tears
But I can stand forever here, so long as you are near
In our embrace, a wall of stone for any wave of fear
There’s always you to hold me
When it seems like hope is gone
There’s always you to hold me
With the strength to carry on
There’s always you…
Ever is my will to say you are everything to me
Never is a doubt that you are always there for me
You kindle every shadow cast upon reality
You light my darkest moments with every possibility
There’s always you to hold me
When it seems like hope is gone
There’s always you to hold me
With the strength to carry on
There’s always you…

Very nice love poem!
ReplyDeleteGreat! I sang it in my head as I read it. Shame I can't write music or we'd have a hit!
ReplyDeletecheerful one.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing...

Beautiful - brought tears to my eyes. I feel that way about my husband, so powerfully sweet. Once a person struggles with serious illness, they understand love on a level that cannot be easily expressed. It is then that you learn what it means to be truly loved and to love, even when you are too sick and weak to physically hold the one you love. It'd be great to hear it sung. Hope you are doing better.

such a wonderful affirmation. I share your luck in having someone who is there no matter what.
ReplyDeletekeep it up...
ReplyDeletelove your perspective here.
Fantastic - that line "you kindle every shadow" - a great bit of imagery!
ReplyDeleteWonderful!
ReplyDeleteVery nice, this one's begging for some music.
ReplyDeleteYou surely are a gifted songwriter..the flow of this is effortless..even for a non-muso like myself...the optimism of always having a 'you' also sings! Jae

Hope you are okay...it's been a long time since you've shared new poetry, songs, music...worried about you! I still love hearing your music when visiting and catching up on old posts though. Such talent!
ReplyDeleteMaking my rounds. Does anyone know how Michael is doing since radiation treatments?
ReplyDeleteLana, thanks for your concern. I hope I haven't alarmed you with my absence! I was progressing through the first week of March. Since then my POEMS symptoms have been returning. It's looking as though I will have to go back to the Mayo Clinic for further testing. I,at this point, don't know what I am facing.
ReplyDeleteI've been knocking on wood since radiation was complete. Unfortunately, that appears to be an old wive's tale! Or maybe I was holding my breath. Which might explain why I've had nothing to say. Don't know what else to say now, Lana. I'm hanging in there, and bracing myself...
I had been very worried, so thank you. It's amazing how people can bond thru adversity; I feel for you and for your family.
ReplyDeleteIt's good that you are close to such a innovative medical center and I hope they can put the puzzle pieces together. Meanwhile, I know it has got to be beyond-frustrating to be kept in a dark tunnel in a bad state of health, I've been there and it's not pleasant, you just want out. But, keep hanging in there and savor the good days or the good moments.
From the bottom of my heart, I am hoping for all the best for you and your family!!!
